Research & Work
Research, standards, systems and tools spanning 6G, intelligent networks, quantum communications, distributed systems and professional service.
major-mode: portfolioMy professional work spans communication-system research, standards, invention and working software. This page is the durable index into that work: projects, publications, standards activity, earlier systems, professional service, talks and demonstrations link directly to the relevant project, paper, article, recording or archive wherever a public source is available.
Current focus
6G & standards
RAN and system architecture, ISAC, terrestrial/non-terrestrial integration, mobility, QoS and the evolution from 5G-Advanced toward 6G. Recent notes include 3GPP RAN3 #131bis — 6G RAN architecture and NR ISAC and 3GPP RAN2 #133bis — 6G control plane and mobility.

A Multiplane Architecture Proposal for the Quantum Internet
An active Quantum Internet Research Group (QIRG) Internet-Draft in the IRTF stream, co-authored with Diego Lopez, Vicente Martin, Blanca Lopez and Luis M. Contreras. It proposes a reference architecture for integrating Quantum Internet technologies with current Internet operations and management. As an Internet-Draft, it is work in progress rather than a final IETF standard.
Earlier Internet-Drafts
- In-Network Computing for App-Centric Micro-Services — co-authored Internet-Draft exploring application-centric deployment and in-network computing; final revision -04, now expired and archived.
- Tactile Internet Service Requirements — co-authored Internet-Draft covering teleoperation, immersive VR, haptics and service requirements; now expired and archived.
